Clean Out Your Closet for Haiti!

PROCEEDS GO TO HAITI THROUGH HOOS4HAITI

What: Come buy second-hand clothing! Refreshments will be provided.

When: This Saturday the 17th 9am-6pm!

Where: Robert Redd Clothing Store, 313 2nd Street!

Robert Redd, a clothing store located behind X-Lounge downtown, has generously offered up the store for us on April 17th to sell all the clothing you guys donated. Clothing will be sold at ridiculously discounted prices (ranging anywhere from $1 to $15) so it won’t take much of a sacrifice for those of us who are poor college kids! Please spread the word to friends and families around Charlottesville about this awesome way to help out those so desperately in need.

Hey everybody! Help support Haiti by coming out to Second Year Council’s HoosFeud at 7:00 in Maury 209, Friday March 26th. Entrance is $1 and ALL proceeds go to the American Red Cross. This event is open to EVERYONE and DOOR PRIZES will be given out. So bring your friends, family, and enthusiasm out to HoosFeud and watch 6 teams duke it out for awesome prizes!

Foundation for the International Medical Relief of Children and Hoos for Haiti are teaming up to bring you Haiti Night  downtown at X-Lounge! Please come by this Thursday from 10 p.m. till 2 a.m. and help make a difference. All proceeds made from the bar go directly to our cause. All you have to do is come out and party, which I know every collage student is good at!

Haiti after the Earthquake: Providing Medical Relief

William Maloney, MD/MPH will address the Global Public Health Minor Course again to discuss his experiences providing relief after the earthquake in Haiti. Dr. Maloney graduated from the University of California Los Angeles David Geffen School of Medicine and completed his residency at the University of Virginia.

Haiti Awareness Week is finishing up tonight with a benefit concert @ McLeod Auditorium at 7 PM. I spoke to Tashima, the organizer, last night and the line-up sounds awesome — BEATS, X-tasee, Oluponya, UVa dancers, the OAS dance group, poets, etc. If you can, definitely try to make it out!

Why: To Benefit Hoos 4 Haiti in their mission to assist Haiti

The always incredible DJ TRUE LEE will be generously donating his talents upstairs!

A $5 donation gets you a bracelet good for drink specials that include $3 rail drinks, $2 domestic beers, and $3 SoCo and lime shots. In addition, Andrew Watson, one of the owners of Boylan Heights, will match your door donations up to $1,000!!

And for the ladies: dates with the gentlemen from the UVA Men’s Soccer Team will be auctioned off from 8-10! Guests under 21 will be allowed to attend the date auction. Money raised from the auction will go to Hoos 4 Haiti.
