Change In UVA Haiti Drive Drop Off Location

In addition to dropping the goods listed below at central grounds drop off point @ 19 West Lawn, you can also drop off goods at the Charlottesville Fire Department on Ridge Street. The medical center’s cafeteria is no longer a drop off spot.


University of Virginia Health System Haiti Relief Efforts

UVA Health System’s Merci Program is partnering with Gleaning for the World to gather much needed supplies to help with the relief effort. The desired items are listed below.

Urgent – Disaster Relief Supplies needed for Haiti.

Note: All items with expiration dates must be at least 4 months in date.

Canned Foods Antibiotic Skin Cream
Powdered Milk Flashlights & Flashlight Batteries
Bandages Clothing (new underwear)
Emergency Kits Pedia Lyte
Medical Kits Soap
Water Treatment Purification Tablets Toiletries
Blankets Hygiene Kits –
Buckets Cleaning Kits-
Coolers Rain Coats
Rope Generators
Tarps Plastic bags to hold water
Lumber Bottled Water
Zinc Sheets Nutritional Drinks

You can either drop your items off in the Medical School cafeteria next week on Wednesday, Jan. 20 from 10 – 2 and Thurs. Jan. 21 from 10 – 2  OR if you are on central grounds, you can drop them off in the box outside of 19 West Lawn anytime before Thursday at 1 PM.  If you have any questions, please contact Maria Synan at mvsynan@virginia.edu.
